Polymer Clay Tutorial using Texture Stamps | Craft Shop DT Project

Hello Crafty Friends

Today I'm here sharing how to use texture stamps with polymer clay.. Texture stamps are rubber stamps, just more flexible and it comes in variety of designs.
These stamps help add beautiful texture to polymer clay creating beautiful pattern to be used in different projects.

You can use these stamps in a regular way, or you can use it in a different way and create more 3D effect called the Sutton Slice technique. For regular texture, you can use different stamps and experiemnt but for "Sutton Slice" technique you will need a flexible stamp with deep designs to get a better and clean result..

Water Shaker Card - Koala T Crafts August DT project

Hello crafty friends,

Welcome to another post on my blog and YouTube Channel.. Yes you read it right.. I have a very fun shaker card tutorial to share with you all and Yes I have been choosen as the DT member for Koala T crafts.. Its an amazing place where Jen Evers shares some great video tutorials weekly, you also can shop some amazing products from their store along with some very cute digis..

And today I have created this very fun water shaker card using one of the digis from Koala T crafts.. Its the Daphne Duck Digis.. Its super super cute.. I'm in love with the digis Jen offers.. They are amazing..

For my card today I used the same image thrice in different sizes to make it look like a mommy duck and 2 ducklings.. This is the fun part about digis, you can always change sizes, flip them and a lot more.. I colored the images using Copic Markers - C2, C3, C5, YR15, YR18, Y02, Y18
The little duckling images were too small, so I didnt add a lot of shading to those 2 images..
I fussy cut them and then used a black marker to outline the images to add more depth to all the images..

Now for the water shaker, I used a ziplock bag, filled it with little water, added Distress Glitter in clear rock candy and also star confetti from Martha Stewarts.. To add a little color to my water, I used Twisted Cintron Distress Stain Spray..

I also die cut my shaker window using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle die and used the negative diecut as the background of the shaker..
I used cracked pistachio and faded jeans to create the background for my shaker..
I then used a panel to create the shaker well using foam tapes and sticked the zip lock bag with water in the well to create the water shaker..

Then I sticked an acetate sheet behind the shaker window and placed this whole panel on top of the background to create the whole shaker card..
To stick the images I used Tombow Mono Liquid glue and finished up the card by adding sentiments from Your Next Stamp - Learning is fun

Shabby Chic Mixed Media Canvas - Elegant Embellishments August GDT video

Hello crafty friends,

I'm so excited to share my 12 by 16 Mixed Media Shabby Chic Canvas that I created using the Pastel Alteration Kit 2A.. Oh I'm in love with the background.. Its gorgeous and I'm sure you all will love it too..

You see that beauty.?? That's what I'm talking about..
So to create that background I colored my canvas in aqua color and decoupage the canvas randomly using a very beautiful tissue paper from last month's kit from Elegant Embellishments
Then I used this Vintage lace from the kit and covered the whole canvas with it..
Ooooooo.. O love the whole backgroud.. It looked so beautiful, I could leave the canvas just like that..

But then I wanted to use the banner too..
So once the background dried, I arranged the 3 triangles on the left side of the canvas along with the doillie appliques included in the kit..
I also arranged the 3 ivory rosette flowers around the chipboard (from my stash) which i also colored in aqua color.. I also arranged few flowers from crafty city to bring everything together..
And for finishing touches I added the pearl trim on the very left edge of the canvas..

There is also a space to add a small picture..

Polymer Clay Skinner Blend Technique

Hello Crafty Friends

I'm back with a fun Polymer Clay Technique called The Skinner Blend.. Its a coolest polymer ckay technique. In this you can blend polymer clay in beautiful blend that shifts from one color to another. And you can do this with 2 colors and more than two. Today I will show how to made graduated blends using 2 different colors, black and white.

There are different ways to make skinner blend and I'm gonna use the simple method that gives smoother results, that is to use pasta machine for skinner blend.

You will see biggest effect if you use 2 colors with contrast in them. If you use colors that are close to each other, you may not see the shift as clearly, but it will be there.. You always get pretty blends while using skinner blend technique.

Start with 2 sheets of clay, cut them in equal size rectangle and them cut them diagonally to make triangles.. Then put them together to make rectangle with white on one side of the rectangle and black on the other side..
Then you have to keep rolling the sheet in the pasta machine on the thickest setting.. Every time the clay comes out of the machine, fold it in half and roll again.. You will start to see difference in color after few rolls.. For a perfect blend, you may need to roll the sheet around 20 to 40 times in the pasta machine.
As you get close, you will see the colors mixing and once you achieve a perfect graduated blend, you are done.. Its that simple..
When doing this you will get a graduated blend from dark grey to light grey.. You dont get any black or white sheet of clay.. Thats because the black is mixed with white and vice versa on either side..

To get the original colors on the skinner blend, you have to use a off-set skinner blend technique.. For this, while cutting the triangle, off set a little bit, so instead of cutting corner to corner, off d=set and cut a little bit towards righton top and left on bottom.. This makes sure that there is little white and black clay on each side, making sure they do not mix. And then roll the sheet in the pasta machine.. Fold and roll, fold and roll, fold and roll.. Continue until you have a perfect skinner blend..

Whether you are a mixed media artist or a album maker or you are into jewelry making, Elegant Embellishments kits can be used in variety of ways..

And I love how beautiful today's projects have come out to be..

So lets start with this Baby Girl Album that I made.. Well, technically its just the cover that I have made, the inside pages are still pending.. But I just could not wait to share it with you all....

Oh I'm in love with this beautiful album.. Its a fabric cover 6.5 by 6.5 album with 3.5" spine (chipboard base, a layer of batting and the fabric from Joann)...

I decorated the spine with the laces and tulles in the Pastel Alteration Kit.. I used hot glue gum to stick them and trimmed anything that hangs off..

Now for the front of the cover, The image I used is from The Whimpsy Stamps - Angie.. I colored it using copic markers and I used Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter Pen to add a lot of sparkle and shine to the image including the chipboard piece I used..

Then I decorated around the image with the beautiful rosette hearts included in the kit, along with the aqua color dollie and flowers from www.craftycity.com
I also added some flower trims and pearl lace to the side of the album to add that extra bling to the whole cover..
Oh wow.. Its gorgeous.. I love how beautiful it looks..

Next I made this complete set - Necklace, a pair of earring and a bracelet from Mermaid Charm Kit..

This whole set is made out of just one kit. So you really get a lot in just one kit and its worth every penny...
